I try to shop local to support Ward 8 businesses and when it comes to Groceries, Acme Fresh Market on West Market St. is my go to store.  I know Acme and the Albrecht family have been supporting Akron  community organizations for years, so I reached out to Katie Swartz, Acme’s VP of Marketing to learn a little more.

Acme Fresh Markets have been family owned and operated by the Albrecht family for 130 years. With 16 locations throughout Summit, Stark, Portage and Cuyahoga counties, Acme stores are easy to navigate, offer fast checkout aisles and work to keep prices low. Fresh Market locations  specialize in full service meat departments with butchers, offering the best cuts of CertifiedAngus Beef and Gerber Amish Farm Chicken.  Acme’s produce department always highlights local farmers, and their in-store  Pharmacies can handle all your prescription needs. Their adult beverage sections carry beer and wine at all price points, and many stores operate as state liquor stores too. With online ordering on their website, Acme can do the shopping for you, just pull in, and Acme’s clerk will load your car with your order or even deliver to your home.

What’s more impressive is how Acme supports the Akron Community. Stan Hywet,  One of a Kind Pets and many more non-profits benefit from their generosity. Acme’s Community Cashback Program reaches organizations of all sizes, from churches, PTA’s, scout groups, high school music and sports  teams, and is simple to join. We all know of groups that collect Acme receipts that are turning them into cash.

Let’s all support our hometown grocery store and help ACME Fresh Markets to continue to support Akron!
