As I sit and watch the snow come down, I’m wondering how I can become a more accessible councilman to all Ward 8 residents. I send this newsletter out monthly, and have Ward meetings on the third Wednesday at the Northwest Family Recreation Center on Shatto, but I’d like to offer a more personal type of interaction. I am currently walking Ward 8 neighborhoods, knocking on doors and meeting folks, but the weather does slow things down.
With this in mind, I’m considering hosting a monthly Saturday morning casual “Coffee with a Councilman” at a local coffee shop. Maybe from 9:30- 11:00am or so, just to stop in and talk about issues, ideas you have or just ask questions. I’ve also thought about doing a similar event at a local bar/tavern (maybe “Beer with Bruce”?) in the evening from 6:00-7:30pm.
I’d like your thoughts on what works best for you, and I’m willing to try both monthly if that’s what you all want. Please click on the link below and let me know your preference.
