Dismantling and removal of the Stockbridge Rd. Water Tank began last month and is on schedule. This water tank has been out of service for many years and was replaced by the pumping station on Wyant Rd, improving water quality and providing more consistent water pressure. This tank has been empty for years, and it’s structural integrity was a safety concern for the City and residents. Eslich Wrecking is handling the takedown with a City of Akron project representative routinely on site. As you can see, it’s a big job and will take a few more seeks to complete and haul away.

Now the big question I keep getting asked; what will be done with the site after completion?  At present there no plans but there are deed restrictions on the lot  in place that may prohibit some uses such as a park. Once the work is complete, I’ll work with Akron’s Planning  department and schedule meeting with Fairlawn Heights residents to lay out a plan.
