Did you know that Akron’s drop off glass recycling program has collect over 80 tons and shown $1600 in profit over the past year. Instead of costing Akron over $3600 to take this to the landfill, we’ve sold the glass to an Ohio Company for processing and reuse.
Now it will take a little work on our part to recycle, as glass will not be accepted in curbside recycling carts! This is strictly a voluntary drop off program with recycle bins at 6 locations across the city;
- Akron’s Dog Park, 449 Memorial Parkway
- Goodpark Golf Course, 530 Nome Ave
- Goodyear Heights Metro Park, 1950 Eastwood Ave
- Kenmore Community Center overflow lot, 880 Kenmore Blvd
- Joy Park Community Center, 825 Fuller St
- Firestone Metro Park Turtle Pond lot, 2620 Harrington Rd
